Light My Fire is extremely grateful for all the requests we receive regarding sponsorship - we want to support as many people as possible to live a richer and better outdoor life and we want everyone to have the best possible outdoor experience, no matter how you choose to spend your days outdoors. Keeping that in mind, we’ve decided to handle the question of sponsorship a little differently.
The Winner 2014!Light My Fire´s Sponsorship Competition.
Light My Fire is pleased to announce the winner of our sponsorship competition: “Light My Fire Adventurers 2014”. The winner is…
Sören Kjellkvist from Sweden with the adventure “Row to Russia for Equality”.
The jury proudly selected Sören for the following reasons:
"Through the meaningful purpose, the memorable posts and wonderful pictures, Sören managed to capture the blog readers/followers full interest. Not only did he share a great adventure, he also told his story in a way that made us contemplate life in general. We have been able to follow Sören through his success but also share his misfortune. Sören and his adventure are a clear source of inspiration that we will remember for a very long time."
Interview with the winner, Sören Kjellkvist!
1. What is your strongest memory from your adventure?
When I spent my 40th birthday alone at a remote island in total solitude.
2. What did you learn?
When you set a goal, no matter how extreme, it's always manageable in small steps.
3. If you would do it again, would you change anything?
Not a single thing. You never regret what you have done. Only the things you didn't do in life.
4. What is your recommendation for others wanting to do the same?
Just take the first step towards your life dream or your goal. The rest follows.
5. You are not just the lucky winner of the Sponsorship competition you also won €3000, for what adventure will you use the money?
I'm determined to fulfil a new adventure every year until I die. The next adventure for 2015 is survival without food nor money in the Swedish mountains for 50 days in total solitude. Only me and my dog, hunting and fishing for survival. I have also started a charity project called "the adventures day" where I will bring young people, who experienced difficulties growing up, the wonderful life-affirming outdoor life.

Last year we started our search for seven unique adventurers to follow during 2013. These seven adventurers took part in our sponsorship competition and the selected finalists wrote on our Adventure blog during their adventure. In the beginning of 2014 we had a winner who was awarded €3000 as sponsorship money for her next great adventure in 2014.
As this was such a success we decided to continue to search for new dventurers in a new competition – Sponsorship Competition 2014. These seven adventurers will take part in our sponsorship competition and the selected finalists will blog during their 2014 adventure at the Light My Fire Adventure Blog.
